I have been an employee of this EGW location. Everything mentioned before is true. They DO NOT have certified opticians--the only truly certified optician is the general manager but she is rarely in or on the floor.

There are no set prices on anything. There are one or two exceptions (some designer frames) but other than that you can bargain your way to as low as 2 pair for 100$ with an exam.

Dr. Schmidt, the OD at EGW 35, is a remarkable doctor. He does stand up for his ethics but he is the only one there who does so.

The manager comes right out and lies to patients faces. IF they think they have a problem with their glasses she brings them to the lab, complains about the problem patient, and goes out with a smile and says that the axis was off, try this, it should be so much better, blah blah blah. she encourages her employees to do the same.

All sales earn commission. We are told to actually go higher than the reg price on the frame if we want. NO ONE is allowed to leave the store without being offered walkout pricing. that is corporate policy. The frames they sell though cost the company about 5$ (more for designers--then maybe 15$). DO NOT GO TO EGW. Spend the extra money and see someone good that actually cares about you as a patient and your individual needs.
