My boys and I went to JACK IN THE BOX to eat. we patronized their restaurant, then we stepped off property on 2 to 3 minutes, when the F&S tow truck pulls out from JACK IN THE BOX Building and takes off with our vehicle. We ordered at 4:45 pm and towed at 5:01 PM. we went to pick up the truck and was told it was $350.00 and $34.00 per day storage fees. I was made to wait all day outside the gate, FELIX finally allowed me to pick up the truck at 5:05 PM (we arrived there at 11AM!) I was charged $384.00! FELIX only let me go in to get the truck he had my boys wait outside the gate while he threatened me with the fact that I pay and take the truck with out a receipt or my friend will have to come pick up his truck. MY friend has no visa, he could not pick up the truck. I refused and I was told that the owner would like to keep the truck for $384.00! I said I did not trust FELIX to take the truck without a receipt! He would call it in stolen! FELIX said, well now or never! If you dont want to pay and take the truck, then you can not come back for it! I stood there and thought about it, and decided to take the truck, then file my complaint against FELIX and F & S Towing and JACK IN THE BOX!!!!! Now that I got the truck back, items are missing!

Not a scam, car towed for illegal parking

It's not a scam to tow cars that are parked illegally on private property, which is what you did. These towing companies are hired by the businesses in this area because they have a big problem with people who aren't customers parking in their lots, and then taking off to go across the border or somewhere else.

That towing company is under contract because Jack-in-the-Box hired them to remove cars illegally parked on their property. The lot is private property with under 15 spaces that J-I-B needs for their patrons, and it's clearly marked "For Customers Only". Bottom line, you were towed because you parked in the lot of a business and left to go elsewhere.

The owners of J-I-B had every right to have the towers remove your car from their property. What really makes it ridiculous is that there are numerous pay lots right next door that charge under $5 to park all day, but you tried to park illegally on private property rather than spend the few bucks. Unfortunately you learned the hard way that impound fees are a lot more expensive.

Jack In the box works with a towing company to better serve it dine in guests. There is no time limit for allegedly "stepping off property" okay. They did not say, "Okay, its been 90 seconds, time to tow" When you step off, you step off. One minute, one hour, one day, they have no idea how long you are going to be gone. You break the rules, you pay the price. If you are wondering why I am putting my two cents in, I am also wondering why you listed this under Jack, not the towing company.
