I received an email from a friend, only later to find that my email had been hacked; telling me I had won a Facebook Lottery.  I was then given a name to contact to verify my winnings.

After the verification, I was asked to send money to pay the taxes and insurance, which I did.

Since that time, I have sent $36,500.00 and am trying to recoupe that money.

They keep telling me that I need to send another $1000.00 just to have my money returned.  I did that last week (like a fool) and they are trying to get me to send another $1000.00 saying that I did not send the first $1000.00.

They always insist on cash and to send it FedEx.

I'm hoping you can be of help, but I'm not hopeful.

Indianapolis, Indiana

If this is a true story, you are screwed.  You have lost your money and You will not be able to recover it.  Did you enter a "Facebook Lotery"?   No, because there is no such thing.  Pay attention - NO LOTTERY MAKES YOU PAY MONEY TO GET MONEY IF YOU ARE A WINNER ALREADY...!!!   You have been scammed.  STOP SENDING THEM MONEY...!!!
