Complaint Review: Facet Studio

Hello,

My name is Tiyana P. I am an up and coming rap artist from Columbus, Ohio, and have recently relocated to Los Angeles, CA. I shot pictures with photographer Hasan Suliman, better known as @facetstudio on social media back on October 24, 2014 after he reached out to me to let me know that he would be shooting in Columbus, Ohio for that weekend. I chose one look, which he said was $500 or $900 for 2 looks.

His method of payment was to put down a $250 deposit via money gram, and pay the additional $250 at the end of the shoot on the day of the shoot. He promised a turn around time of 5-6 weeks on the photos, which I planned to use for my new album cover.

Today is February 22 and after reaching out to him numerous times over the last 2 months (which was after the promised date) to inquire about my photos he has been very rude, arrogant and unprofessional to me, promised my photos on several occasions, and I have still yet to receive my photos. He has stopped responding to my text messages altogether. After asking around about him to other models in the LA area, I was told he is a scam artist and shoots with all of the celebrities, then travels from city to city taking images of individuals seeking opportunities to Segway into the industry and does not return their images, but only takes their money.

I am not only upset about him taking my $500 and not getting me my images, but I am also highly disappointed because I was a huge fan of his work for years and had always thought highly of him and looked forward to working with him. I would like for others to be informed about this to prevent him from scheming on any additional young and aspiring models and artist looking to gain exposure in the industry. I have screen shot images of all of our text messages and the receipt of my payment as well as additional pictures we took behind the scenes the day of the shoot if you would like more proof.
