In a hurry to get a GPS to my children before a long road trip, I placed an order before 5 PM on a Monday for a Garmin and agreed to pay $45 for "next day air" to be sure the unit would reach me the next day - time to set it up and for the kids to familiarize themselves before steting out. Nowhere did the product details indicate this was a REFURBISHED product. I received my order confirmation and AT NO TIME OR PLACE was there any indication that my "next day" order would not be delivered the NEXT DAY. Nothing arrived on the Tuesday and when I tracked the shipment the indication was it would be delivered "by c.o.b. on Wednesday". When it was at last delivered on Wednesday, I learned for the first time this was not a new product but reconditioned. In the interim I called to complain abouty the delay and see if it could be expedited or failing that to get a $45 refund for the ripoff.

The first "service" person I spoke to (at an overseas call center) told me (news to me) that "no shipments are made after 3:30". So "next day air" in fact meant "we will send it out next day". I was placed on a long hold for a supervisor and ended the call after waiting 20 minutes. Called back, same rigmarole, same hold, then got connected to ... another customer waitimng to speak with a supervisor, so we both had to call back. Third call, even longer wait, and the manager told me, we do not give refunds. Even when you failed to deliver as promised at a cost of $45? We cannot get that money back, was the reply. But you lied to me by failing to explain next day means "when we get around to it", said I. No luck. This company makes money by outsourcing its non-servicing service center, not investing in staff or phone technology, ripping off excessive shipping fees and failing to disclose the facts. So if you expect you might conceivably need to waste an hour or more in an attempt to receive unhelpful advice or assistance or a refund for rotten deceitful service, this is the website for you!!!
