To make a long story short, Loveland Auto Transport accepted a bid to transport my car, picked it up, never delivered it, and then extorted cash from me to get it back. They are actually doing business out of a store front at 1015 Lincoln in unincorporated Larimer County and go by several other names-Berthoud Auto Transport, Fair Trade Transport. Their bill of lading gives a residential address that is not their actual place of business, so it's impossible to investigate their business dealings before hand. The Sheriff's department in the county they do business from is very familiar with the company. They have many complaints for being uninsured, stealing people's cars, blantantly extorting money, selling people cars and never giving title. They aren't afraid of being sued, because when they get too many complaints, they take the assets from one business and open another
At this point, they have ripped off so many people, it's moved beyond civil and is criminal. If you are out of state and can't sue them in small claims court, I urge you to call the Sheriff's department at 970 416 1985 and add your name to the list of complaints. I also urge you to call the District Attorney in Larimer County. You can sue them civilly, their bill of lading is illegal and actually does not contain any terms and conditions. I'd also urge you to call the tax assesor in Larimer County since the guy is using his home for commercial purposes so his taxes can be correctly reassessed (commercial taxes much higher in colorado and it's illegal to use a residential address this way). It should send off alarm bells when a company has to change their name every couple of months. And the owner may very well be here illegally from New Zealand. Don't be surprised if he gets a number of judgments against him and takes off home. And don't think you're getting any better of a deal if you get one of his employees. Tyler in particular, seems to be part of the scam in extorting cash. If you have problems with them, it's pointless to try and work it out. They say completely outrageous things to everyone (look at some of the complaints. They lied and said I had threatened to kick their a*s when I had the sheriff and police call them. My only phone contact with them was to get an address after my car had been missing for two weeks.) If you get any sort of a run around, they've started the scam on you and it will continue for weeks. Best to just call the sheriff's department and district attorney from word one.
