Bogus Late Fees Borrower Harrassment mistreated and ripped off .....
Fairbanks Capital Corp charged me with late fees even though I made payments on time. When I sent them a "Qualified Written Request," they apologized and adjusted my account. They even sent a letter stating they accidentally credited my payment to someone else's account!
17 days later, the sent me another demand letter (and charged me $9.95 for it)stating my account was 3 payments behind!
The 800 number they listed is staffed with condescending idiots who harrass and discriminate. They treated me like I was some deadbeat who never made a payment. Bear in mind..I WAS NEVER LATE!
To articulate how screwed up this company is, they send me my statement every month, TWO WEEKS after the payment is due!
Knowing this, I send the payment early enough to avoid the late payment fees, or worse yet, a negative report to a credit reporting agency.
Fairbanks Capital Corp is a rip off and they need to be held accountable.

I have had the same kinds of problems with Fairbanks and their fraudulant procedures, which seem to be standard practice for them. I even e-mailed the state of Utah, where they are based asking why the allowed this company to operate out of their state. This was my reply:

While everyone seems to be "aware" of Fairbanks and their practices, no one seems willing to do anything about them.
I have a complaint filed with California Dept. of Corporations @ 320 West 4th Street Suite 750, Los Angeles, CA 90013-1105
I urge everyone in California to write to them and open a file by complaining about Fairbanks. There is a class action suit, filed in October in Contra Costa County, so perhaps there is hope that we can force this company out.
Do your part and complain, complain, complain!
