Fairbanks is not a fair mortgage company. Our nightmare started in April 2001 when Equicredit sold out to Fairbanks. We had to go back to the year 2000 to show payments that had already been made. They had us owing thousand of dollars and ready to foreclose on us. After that was resolved, the year 2002 came and it started in November of 2002 with no payments being posted.

They swear up and down that the payments are not there. We gave the address from the coupon booklet that we mailed the payment off too and their reply was "Sometimes I payments doesn't go to the correct address" and they gave me another address and told me to put attention "Cashiering" to make sure it goes to the correct department and it is posted.

While they are investigating our lost payments, foreclosure has started. I couldn't understand how come they were foreclosing on us and they are supposed to be looking for our payments. We only send cashier's check to them because they hold the checks for 20 days or more before they deposit the check.

We had to file a chapter 13 to save our house for $3,775.00 until they found the payments and they still haven't found the payemnts. So we suffer.

Our new payments was to begin in January 2003 and I called them on January 14 to see if they had received the payment and they posted it toward November of 2002 payment not our January 2003 so they are showing us still 2 months behind. The bankruptcy took care of the 2002 payments. They just don't update their records. We are going to have to stay on them so they can update our records for 2003.

If you can it is just best to refinance and get from under them. They are the devils seeking whom can they can devour. They are seeking "US" the hardwoking people. They just want to take our home from us!!!
What happened to the honest businesses?

Make me understand!!!

I tried to refinace my property last May and every time we got a pay off amount it would be different. The last payoff amount was $6000.00 higher that the principal...I disputed the amount because for 6 months my principal and interest did not go down at all and payments were made on time...this company is absolutly rediculous. Like everyone else they will not return my phone calls and when you do talk to them they are soooo rude and they treat you like dirt...I have contacted a local attorney that deals with preditory lenders. I have been with Fairbanks since 1/02 and payments were sent to them and received a letter from an attorney in 3/02 stating they were going to forclose on the property...and of course this lawyer fee was charged to me.
