Everything seems to fall into a black hole.

I'm responding to your note because I live in Syracuse, NY, and am interested in finding other New York State people who have been or are being raked over the coals by these people.

My mortgage was sold to Olympus in July, 2002, and nothing has gone right since. They failed to pay my taxes or my homeowner's insurance. My homeowner's insurance got cancelled, and I paid it myself to get it reinstated. I got a notice of tax sale and redemption from my county.

In spite of the failure to pay anything from my escrow, they have me as being in deficit for over $2000.00 and have raised my monthly mortgage payment from $643.00 per month to, first $1,112.00 per month, and now they've brought it down to $895.00 (still way too high - my taxes are in the $2000.00 range). I have tried, like everyone else, to resolve this with phone calls, letters etc.

Everything seems to fall into a black hole. All my escrow money has disappeared, they are trying to get me to pay a ludicrously high mortgage to replenish it and repay them their "advance", and on the phone they'll agree the numbers are incorrect, but they won't fix it. My favorite was the supervisor I finally managed to talk to who said my escrow was low because "attempts were made to pay my city/school taxes". According to the county, none of my taxes, city/school or county, have yet been paid for 2002.

I have sent information with documentation to my attorney general's office, I have filed a complaint with the FTC. I even have a letter to 60 Minutes I plan to mail today. I've been doing some reading, and I think I may have grounds to sue these people.

They have misrepresented my debt, and held $3,800.00 of my escrow money for a year, then lost it. This is fraud, isn't it? I'm looking for other New York people who have found lawyers who will deal with these people. Nobody I've talked to so far seems to want to take them on, other than the Chicago guys who are working on the class action suit, and I don't know that they can help with my immediate problems.
