I was contacted in october of 2006 by fairfield resales with an offer to advertise my timeshare for sale. they guaranteed a full refund of my money if they did not find a buyer in 9 months. I paid $199 for the first time share and $99 for the second to list them. The person I delt with was Bill Elis. I checked in periodically and they reassured me they were working on it and when 9 months came I called for my refund. They were out of buisness. so I figured I was out $300 and decided to keep my timeshares. I was called last week (jan2008) by a company called resort resales they said "congratulations we have found a buyer for your time share". I asked what they were referring to, they explained they had taken over fairfield resales and had a large company interested in buying a block of time shares. they could offer me $21,940 for the time share in cabo which I had listed for $13,000. All I needed to do was send $500 for a one time processing fee for closing costs and I was guraranteed to recieve $21,940 by wire transfer or cashiers check. I asked who their manager was and I was told Bill Elis. Obviously I did not send in the 500. It is hard to believe they actually tried twice to rip me off. I guess they figured Since I still had the timeshares I would be desperate to get the money. I actually googled Bill Elis and found a rip off report which confirmed it was a scam. I hope this report will help someone else in the future.
