We have been deeded owners at Fairfield Communities KingsGate, Williamsburg, Va since 1995.  Our relationship with them was wonderful until, Wyndham became part of Fairfield. Fees and assesments began to shoot through the roof.  It seemed that things that were supposed to be done to the properties weren't being done in a timely manner, but the money demands were up to date and going strong.  Only my opinion

We had a great financial crisis personally which caused us to fall behind in our assessment and fee charges.  We paid $16,500.00 for the one week timeshare, which has been paid infull for several years now.

Granted the fees did pile up to one year in the rears.  We received a letter from Wyndham stating that if we didn't pay the past due fees they were going to forclose on our timeshare.  They gave us 30ndays from the date of the letter to pay in full.

I called asking if there was a way we could pay the past due amount in payments for a short period of time to get caught up.  First they gave me the run around.  No one seemed to know anything or had any paperwork to substanuate the amount owed.  There was always someone else that had to be contacted  Because this was a time sensitive issue, we wanted to find out the exact amount, because the letter did not include any of the financial information.

The persons we talked to were unprofessional as well as uninformed of the issue.  It seemed as though they were purposely stalling trying to use up the time to inforce the foreclosure. This is only my opinion.

We finally have involved our attorney.  I thought that after 15 yrs of being owners and 13 of which our payments for the fees and assessments that Fairfield would be understanding considering a long-term illness caused us to loose one income.  We thought that as an act of compassion and an excellent payment history they would have allowed us to enter into a payment aggreement.

To our deep disappointment all they are concerned about is snatching our timeshare from under us, doing away with the deeded property and changing it into a term ownership contract therefore no one will ever own anything.  They will just have to keep paying and paying.  Again this is just my opinion.

Buyer beware. This organization has turned into a greedy money hungry beast which will eat you up and spit you out.  What has happened to the business ethics in a country that once had a reputation of humanity, respect and integrity for it's customers and clients and fellow citizens.  Again this is only my opinion.
