We have a fixed week located with Palm Aire Resort. Last year we were told we could not use our week due to the damages caused by a hurricane and the building was under construction. We were still required to pay our maintenance fee of $853.00.

My husband and I agreed, since it was an act of God we would bite the bullet and pay. The ony goodwill gesture that was offered was a bonus week, which we found out to use this bonus week you had to pay $249.00.

This year we are required to pay the maintenance fees again. However we were told that the building we have our fixed week is still under repair. This will be the second year we are paying maintenance fee on week we are not able to use. Of course they offer us a bonus week for the small price of $249.00.

I contacted Owner Relations and asked what happen to the insurance money that each owner pays with there fees? Why are we paying housekeeping fees? why are we paying maintenance fees on property that is not available for use? No one could answer my questions. I was transferred and transferred to different departments and 5 hours later still no answers.

I am sure that Wyndham Vaction Resorts were compensated through the Insurance for all repairs on the buildings. According to the information I received Wyndham Resorts carries many Insurance Polices, (1 million per occurrence).

I also asked why we did not receive a budget report and the breakdown of the insurance money used and the actual cost for repairs? Still no answers!

I received this threatning letter stating if the fees were not paid the property would be rented. How do you rent property that is still under construction.

The next letter I received was from a collection agency stating I now owe a $1000.00 plus handling fees.
Why should we have to continue paying maintenance fees on property that is not available for us to use? It would be different if the assessment was for property taxes only, not for maintenance.

We are tired of throwing our money away and not being able to use our week. The more we deal with this Resort, Management, and there Customer Services Department it's like pulling teeth to get straight and honest answers. Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
