Fake PhD Cheat Authors
I am the author of five history, books but even I got cheated as an experienced author of Southern Heritage Press in Murfreesboro, TN. After submitting a manuscript which the "Editor" claimed he wanted to read, and would publish post-haste, I innocently believed him when he said I could buy copies as investment as pre-publication price and get a great discount. My husband backed me and we sent a check for $3500. To my dismay when he sent my manuscript back with his "suggestions" I discovered that he didn't know much about editing from his remarks and big x marks all over the page instead of correcting spelling and grammar. I smelled a rotten rat in Denmark for sure.
I asked for my manuscript back as we had no contract which the publishing industry offers as standard. He refused to give the book back, and proceeded to publish it with HIS rewrites. I got a lawyer (more mistakes) and got nowhere fast with this experienced thief. Thought I won and injunction and a settlement for my money, I have never been able to collect it due to the rotten "for the criminal" legal system. Please help others beware of this rip-off. He is currently running ads to lure unsuspecting authors. He misrepresents himself as an editor, a PhD (he is not, that came out in court) and a legitimate publisher. He will not sign contracts.
