We received a phone call from someone saying we had won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes of $250,000 and a new car and that a UPS truck with the check and someone delivering the car would be at our house in 1 hour. They would talk then hang up then call back several times with more information. Then finally asked us to Western Union $1,500 -- 1% of the winning directly to the IRS for the tax. They even gave a phone number to call 'Bank of America' with pin and account #'s to verify the money amount. After calling the real PCH and reporting it, we told the guy we weren't sending money to someone we didn't know. He said it would be donated to a charity. After asking if I could choose a charity he asked which one. I told him our local Schuyler County Sheriff's office and said I just spoke with them and the real PCH and reported the scam. He replied not very nicely and hung the phone up. We tried to go along as long as we could get as much information as we could from them. I hope this will be helpful to the next person they call.

The people's names were John Richmond, David Miller, and Mary Williams.

The phone #'s were ***-***-****, ***-***-****,and ***-***-****.
