In 2010 I went to Falls Church Motors/ Tracker Financial to finance a car. I wanted to go with a  Saturn. I was told in order to be financed I HAD to make a down payment- completely typical and understandable. At the time of being there I did NOT have a down payment but the manager let me leave with the car. Within ONE DAY the brakes had completely gone out while driving 70mph on I95. All i had was the Ebrake. I immediately went to Falls Church Motors, advised them. Their mechanic drove it back and forth in the parking lot stating he couldn't re-create the issue. I was extremely irritated and stated "what if it happens again and I hit someone or kill another drive or myself" The mechanic's response was "Oh we will cover the body damage" and then had the nerve to ask why i was driving 70mph on the interstate and why was I slowing down. Well, hello its NOVA, traffic!

The next day I had my brother and his co-workers, who works for an authorized Nisaan dealership in Manassas, check the car out. It was ILLEGALLY passed through inspection, CO2 sensor and many other components to pass emissions was bad, bad tires, brake issues, etc. It was a long list. Then the brakes went out AGAIN! I then took the car and the list of issues back to them, the managers were complete A-holes and REFUSED to do anything to help. Instead they wanted ME to PAY them to fix the problems. I told them No, they can have the car back and I left the car there with them (since I NEVER made a down payment I should have never been financed). Two days later they call me telling me "my" car is ready. I said NO it's not my car, you refused to assist me and were very rude, a down payment was never made in order to be financed. I never made a down payment so I couldn't be financed. You can keep it.

I reported them to BBB and to the state troopers for illegally passing cars through inspection. They then tried hounding me for a payment? HELL NO, I was never financed! . I recently checked my credit report and they had the nerve to report me for a repossession. IT NEVER WAS, that car was taken back within two days and the car was NEVER REGISTERED in MY name. They are crooks and I would NEVER EVER recommend them to anyone! STAY AWAY!! I wouldn't even give them a one star, they are a ZERO and should be shut down. If you research online you will find other reviews similar to mine. I am not the first person who has had this experience and I will not be the last.

Okay I don't care how nice a dealer comes off as, there is not a single dealer that is going to allow you to take a car off of their lot unless you sign paperwork.

If any of the paperwork you signed was something like a Bill of Sale or other sort of agreement, it doesn't matter if you paid a down payment or got the vehicle financed..it is YOUR vehicle and YOU are responsible for it.  This includes it becoming a Reposession if you just turn it back in.

By the way there is no law or requirement that says you MUST make a downpayment to the bank.  Most require it, but there are also several dealers who will take care of that requirement either by paying it or creating a separate "agreement" where you pay them.

The only issue that MAY have been legitimate is the State Inspection.  If they lied or falsified documents on that they could be in serious trouble.  But unfortunatly you generally need more than some aquantances of yours just saying so.  And 2 years later getting any proof of that is going to be next to impossible.
