Family Subscriptions LLC Ripped-Off Golden Colorado
Family Subscriptions LLC has a policy that you can cancell your door-to-door solicited magazine within three business days. I sent in my cancellation the very same day, certified and postmarked. After not receiving a refund after a few weeks, as the receipt said I would, I sent in a statement from my bank indicating they took the money out of my account to the exact same address I sent the cancellation request to, this time uncertified. After two months of waiting for my refund from them, I called the number on my receipt. I pressed the button to cancel and was disconnected over and over. Finally after calling several times, my call stopped being answered at all. I called a few weeks later and spoke to a woman who was extremely rude. I told her I wanted to know why I had not received my refund. She then told me that they never received my cancellation notice, but had received my proof of payment. Now why would I send a proof of payment for no reason, first of all. Why would they not have received it via certified mail, second of all. After bringing those facts to her attention, she then yelled at me saying they never got it and I was not to receive my refund, then hung up the phone. I am so mad, considering that I grossly over paid. It cost me $62 for two years of one magazine. The solicitor also told me it was only 50 cents per issue, which was stupidity on my part not to realize that I paid nearly $3 per magazine. I could have went to the store and bought one once a month at cover charge for less than that. Since they told me I have no hope of getting my refund back, I simply told them to cancel the subscription, not to send it to me, and to never send one of their solicitors to my house again. I just would like everyone to know about it so they don't get taken advantage of as I did. I now have a very big "no soliciting" sign on my front door. I have also reported them to the Better Business Bureau twice, with no response.
