I set up my own website and then got a robo call from Searchengine.com.  They said that my website needs to be properly listed as a national and local search result and that I need to grab a pen to write down the promo code.  They say this will ensure my website will be properly listed in national listings.  They said my promo code is valid until Monday to void the set up fees.  To use my promo code I need to go to www.searchenginestartup.com. Select from national or local listing and then enter promo code to complete the registration.  It says it will ensure the visibility of my website.  This implies that my website is not valid until I register it with this company.  The fee was around $99.  Thankfully I did not fall for this as my husband works in the Tech Industry and has warned me against these scams but many people I'm sure are not aware of them and would most probably pay to register their website even when they don't have to.  And I'm sure it doesn't do what it claims to.
