Famous Fone Friends Linda Stone Scam! Asked for money to call our child in hospital Los Angeles California
Our child is in the hospital getting treatment for a rare genetic disorder. My husband and I had been posting the ups and downs of our family on social media. We were contacted by Linda Stone asking if we would like to have our child's favorite character call them. We had never heard of Famous Fone Friends or Linda Stone before. She said she found us through social media.
We agreed because we didn't see any harm. We told Linda who our child would like to hear from. Linda said she would try, but that she couldn't guarantee.
One week later she calls and asks us to make a donation. She says she is still working on getting someone to call our child. Another week passes by and she asks again for another donation saying she knows we have a GoFundMe and that we had made a lot of money!
This is a scam! This person looks through social media to find parents of sick children and shakes them down for money!
