Complaint Review: FANDANGO

I purchased two tickets to a local theater online. The movie times and movies for that theater were on the FANDANGO site. The site was enittled "FREE FANDANGO APP-MOVIES AT YOUR FINGERTIPS". I made my selection movie and time, entered my credit card information...clicked the applicable discount for "tuesday discount" at my theater for a discount of $3.00. At this time, the site showed me nothing regarding a convenience fee and so i submitted..and immediately received a confirmation email with STILL NO MENTION OF A CONVENIENCE FEE WHATSOEVER! 

Now I find out through a neighbor that i have been charged a convenience fee of $2.50,  that is pure profit for FANDANGO because they do not even provide you with printed and/or actual tickets without having to do what all movie goers do--STAND IN LINE!  That's correct I have been made to pay for FANDANGO'S FREE? MOVIE LIST AND SHOW TIMES. That makes this not free and not convenient. 

Contacting fandango's live chat is also a "train wreck" they say that they apologize but i should have known that nothing is ever free..."...it is our policy that you make yourself aware of information pertinent to your purchase! "

For my own peace of mind i spent endless time going through FANDANGOS WEBSITE only to find a glimpse of information on "Convenience charge for each ticket and cost" in the FAQ section.  

Here is a direct quote to question "Why is a convernience charge added to the price of each ticket and how much is it?" (I would have added: ...and when is the consumer advised of such a nuisance charge...)

ANSWER: "As a free service to all of our users. Fandango provides show times,movie listings and theater information for most theaters in the USA. We provide this service free of charges...."

the in even smaller print the following: "Fandango is an independent company and does not receive any portion of the theater ticket revenue. The nominal per ticket convenience charge is collected by Fandango so that we may continue providing our customers with a convenient ticketing service...."

WHAT IS THAT CONVENIENT TICKETING SERVICE?????  You still have to stand with all the  others on the ticket line and to make things worse you have to pay an ADDITIONAL FEE to FANDANGO FOR DOING SO.

This is a true rip off of theater going consumers, fandango also makes a sham of any benefit you might get from using your consumer in planning your entertainment. I will also be reporting this as a violation in the internet business community.
