Fantastic Sam's Owner Rod Paulson ripoff Who the hell is in charge of allowing these morons to run a franchise and screw people out of their jobs?? Sioux Falls South Dakota
Rod Paulson purchased the two Fantastic Sams franchises in Sioux Falls approximately a year ago. One salon is located on east 26th street & the other on west 41st street. His first order of business was to cut all employee hours, wages & commission at the 26th street salon. Consequently, every stylist that ever made any money for the salon quit, including the manager. The manager of the 41st street salon comes over to the 26th street salon to work & she constantly has alcohol on her breath. The stylists at the 41st street salon are all either dating or married to black men who are allegedly involved in drugs.
Rod keeps bragging about how he is going to open another salon on west 57th street in the near future even though the salon on east 26th street has lost 85% of their business due to his wonderful business practices.
The thing I find most amazing...
While all the stylists working for him lost hours, wages & commission, he & his entire family are touring Mexico, Japan & god knows where else.
Apparently the money he took away from his employees & former employees is now paying for his family's expensive vacations.
Who the hell is in charge of allowing these morons to run a franchise and screw people out of their jobs?? We don't need to outsource jobs to other countries...we have plenty of owners & managers in the U.S. that don't give a d**n about anything but lining their pockets with more cash.

i was laid off from fantastic sams. the owner told me id be back to work when the business picked up. 2 ppl left last week,i called the same person and he refused to let me go back to work,(help wanted the next week)
his excuse "some things are better not discussed" what a crock! i know for a fact the owner has discriminated against me for being on ss disability! i was never given any verbal or written statements before this.
employee handbooks are legal and binding! i never got any verbal or written reprimands!
i never missed a day!ive even gotton ty cards thanking me for my dedication and going above and beyond for fantastic sams!ive been a model employee/stylist and im proud of it!
i honestly believe the sob has discriminated against me for neurological disabilities that i have!

a new f.s. salon opened in batavia,ny (valu plaza) i was hired 6 months before it opened. i even had the pleasure of helping get ready for its dec 18,2004 grand opening, i worked from the opening until mid june 2005 and one sat i went in and the manager tells me "i have to lay you off" it didnt matter that several women were hired long after it opened,they still have their jobs! her excuse(youve got other incomes,the girls need this job more than you)bullcrap!,just an excuse! this shouldnt have been a factor,period! i went to work,never missed one day,went in even on my days off when it got busy. and even got in the co newsletter for retail sales! i even was getting ladies who liked my work and asked for me a lot! and this is what i get? i guess being an honest hard worker willing to give over 100% doesnt matter. the asst. manager returned from a 6 week medical leave. her asst manager title was revoked!the manager trained her "pet" all the computer and inventory skills while she was on leave! she wants more than anything to leave that salon. obviously this salon wants liars and backstabbers. later i found out im being blamed for the other stylists bad decisions! i wasnt even there to defend myself! fantastic sams is a joke,never work for these idiots unless you plan on being an arrogant selfish person! nice ppl in the hairstyling profession will never make it with them! good riddance sam!

i work for fantastic sams in batavia,ny. i have the most awesome manager and owners to work for! greedy ppl like the one that bought your salons will soon be out of business.theyll make money now but down the road,no one will work for him. and
