I went in for a Perm on Wednesday October 12th 2005 at aprox 5 pm. The sylist that was working with me was Tara who said she was a "perm specialist". After a careful evaluation of my hair she proceeded to do my hair.

After the perm was finished she was rinsing my hair and noticed that it didn't look right. She took me over to the chair by the mirrors and there was no curl. The perm didn't work and she said "I have never seen this before
in my career" then said I am going to call my manager. She went to the back room and called her manager Darlene.

Tara told me that Darlene said there was another perm that same day that didn't take and they had a bad batch of product and if she had known that she wouldn't have
used that product or would have asked me to come back the next day when they were getting a whole new shipment of products in. She then said that I should come back the next day so she could redue my perm FREE of charge since I was getting charged that same day for a perm that didn't work. I was okay with this. I was told to come in right away the next morning at 9 am to have the perm redone.

Well the first treatment had totally fried my hair as I noticed after I washed it in the morning and came in. Tara noticed that my hair was damaged and she was afraid that would happen. She was first going to put a treatment on my hair to try to fix some of the damage before she attempted another perm. The other stylist Tonya advised her not to perform another perm. Tara then called the Owner Mark and he was going to come in to talk
to me and give me a refund. Tara also changed her story at this point and said that I guess it wasn't bad product. She guesses at this point I am getting very upset with the LACK of KNOWLEDGE of the employees.

The owner came in and said that Tara was wrong they don't have bad product ever and that he doesn't know why she would tell me that in the first place. There were two other customers in the salon at the time when she informed me of the bad product and the bad perm. Mark said he wasn't just going to send me on my way and I could wait for the manager Darlene to come in to see what could be done for me.

I waited until 11 am when the Manager Darlene came in. Darlene proceeded to listen to what Tara had told me and said that Tara said no such thing at first. Then she changed what she had said to I don't know why she would say that to me and that she didn't say anything of the sort to her. She denied EVERYTHING that Tara had told me the night before. Darlene started judging my hair AFTER the perm treatment and told me that my hair should HAVE NEVER BEEN PERMED IN THE FIRST PLACE and she didn't know why Tara permed it. Then changed again and said that Tara only permed my hair because I came in and asked for it regardless and was only trying to make the customer happy. That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard
if Tara is a perm specialist and knew that there was a BIG RISK in perming my hair I should have been informed before the product had been applied to my hair. Darlene told me yeah you probably should have. I probably should have that is one of the most unprofessional statements ever made.

She then said they wouldn't do anything to fix my hair and after I discussed the matter with her over for almsot a half hour she said she would give me some treatment that I WOULD HAVE TO TO DO. A cheap 9.95
tube of creme that I would have to apply MYSELF for 4-6 weeks.

I not only do not have a perm, but I have ruined hair that I have to fix my self. I do have before and after pictures and I am prepared to take further action as this is not only horrible customer service, but my long beautiful hair is RUINED! I will be contacting the BBB, the local press as well as an attorney to make sure I am given what I deserve and make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. All I want is compensation for my hair being ruined. Simply I want the store to pay for my hair to be fixed by another salon and then I want the service. I don't think that is too much to ask!

Please beware.

You went to Fantastic Sam's, not a celebrity hairstylist! Maybe the customer service was a little bad, but you get what you pay for. If I go to Wal Mart I don't expect to buy luxury items!

So they made a mistake, which they attempted to make right. But nooooo, that is not good enough for you! You seem to think that "talking about it for 30 minutes" to the manager will suddenly make your hair better. And an expensive bottle of haircare product that they provided to you free of charge is not good enough - you actually want them to put it in your hair for you for the next 6 weeks??!! Oh puhlease ... this is not a full-service spa! If that is what you were looking for, you should not have gone to Fantastic Sam's in the first place! They are a discount hair cutter ... aka cheap! You get what you pay for!

I know a girl that was recently hired as a stylist. She is a lifetime welfare slob that had no choice but to go to work in order to continue receiving welfare. Her qualifications? NONE. Fantastic Sam's hired her anyways. I think they get some sort of tax break for hiring bums.
