Complaint Review: farm business consultants

 I had hired FBC to look after my accounting needs for my operating company, a holding company and my personal taxes. I liked the way they had presented the whole package and it all sounded very good. Neil ghearring (sales guy) told me they specialized in companies up to 8M in annual revenue and we are just under half of that so i thought we fell right in their specialty.

i could not have been further from the truth. they did our year end for 2012 and were promptly fired after that, however I am still paying for the damage they have done. I was applying for additional financing this year and one of the stipulations put on me was that i could no longer use FBC as there reports did not inspire confidence.

I have gone back to a traditional accounting firm and they continue to uncover gross errors. these range from failing to record fixed asset sales properly, personal dividend errors etc. Because of the way that FBC does your returns there is no working papers for the new accountant to pick up so guessing what they did is all the real accountants can do. they also never even picked up my papers from the accountant before them, but knowing what i know now it is because they treat every year like a new one so why look at the past.

we had questions that would arise through the year and the office would always tell us they will deal with everything when they come out after the year end. so essentially they came to our office and did all the years accounting work for 2 companies in 2 days in our boardroom. I was told by Chris (the guy who came and did actual work) that the reason their office told us to wait was because they were not used to sophisticated book keepers and we were too organized for them. i dont know of many companies up around the 8M annual revenue that look at books annually!!! this may have just been another lie.
