Fast Relocation Moving And Storage They charged my credit card to pay themselves before delivering the furniture and without first obtaining authorization Reseda California
I hired Fast Relocation Moving and Storage to move me from Fresno California to New York City on February 15, 2008.
They estimated the cost to be $1900.00 and I paid them $1,000 up front. The balance was to be paid at time of delivery. Also, they would weigh my furniture on the evening of February 15th and let me know the difference, if any. My stuff went in storage while I found an apartment in NY.
On February 25, 2008 I called Fast Relocation to give them my new address and let them know I was ready for my furniture. I asked for the total balance due and they said $2600. I asked why so much and they said they weighed the truck and based on the additional weight this was how much more I owed.
I asked for a copy of the document reflecting the additional weight and they would not give it to me. I spoke to Jessica and she said she had to talk to someone and would get back to me. The next day I hadn't heard from her so I called her. She said she had faxed it and I said no you didn't.
She put Mike on the phone and he was rude and said, calm down lady.....you'll get your copy. He said they would be weighing the furniture "tomorrow", which would be February 26th. He then stated that he wanted the balance right now. I said we had an agreement that he would get the balance when I received my furniture and he said no I want it right now. I said I can't give you the balance without first approving the total cost and I want to see the copy of the additional cost for the excess weight. That afternoon I was faxed a copy of the truck weight and it was dated February 20th.
The copy of the weight receipt they faxed me wasn't even mine. When I called them to ask them why the receipt had a date that didn't even match up to what they had been telling me he didn't know what to say. He just kept saying he wanted to be paid right now and I said no not until I get my furniture in NY.
The next day I checked my bank balance and Fast Relocation had charged my account by another $1,000 without my approval. I notified my bank, who inturn credited my account, and sent them a notice to that affect.
When my furniture arrived they were furious because I had taken my $1,000 back and they refused to give me my furniture until I signed a statement that said that when I paid them the balance I would not take it back, so I signed. Also they were charging me additional because he had to walk more than 25 feet from the elevator to my front door. I refused to pay and he made a big scene in front of the concierge and the Superintendent. They threated to call the police, so they finally released my furniture to me.
I still have approximately 5 boxes that I never received. One of those boxes has jewelry that means a lot to me. My daughter's first guitar given to her by her father never arrived and all my stainless steel kitchen appliances never arrived. I am also missing a wardrobe box with my work suits, towels etc.
They tried to deliver a guitar in a case that did not belong to me, so we handed it back to them. They said they had no idea who it belonged to. So if you are missing a guitar in a case, they have it, untagged.
If anyone has boxes that don't belong to them, please let me know.
