Stay away from Gary Schatz!!!!

After being employed by Gary Schatz from March to the end of July 2009, I told him I was going to quit as I found a permanent position. A few weeks later I was going through my invoices and noticed I had not been paid for all of them. I immediately contacted Gary Schatz to explain the problem. He said to e-mail him a copy of the invoices and he would take care of it. The amount that was still due to me was $585.50.

Gary said that a check was sent to me and he will verify what happened. A day later he told me the check had my incorrect address on it and it was returned. (I dont see how this is possible as it was not the first check that was sent to me). A week later I received a check in the mail for the amount of $147.00. I called Gary to find out where the balance of $438.50 was and he told me to send him all the invoices to verify what happened.

Two days later Gary sent me the following e-mail:

Stuart, You were correct, there were some time cards missing. However, the client would not pay all of the bills sent to him for $300 of which you billed me $200.00. As per terms of our contract, you will only be paid on money collected from the business, so I have deducted it from your pay and will send you a check out today for $237.50. This will conclude our business.   Gary

I finally received a check from him in the amount of $238.50 of course there is still $200 due. I tried to call Gary about this and he hung up the phone on me, would not return my calls either. Now I dont know what type of business he is trying to run. If an employer is not paid by a client, it has nothing to do with the employee. The employee will still get paid. I have been trying to contact Gary for months about this. Every time I tried calling, he would not answer the phone and not reply to any e-mails. The only way I could get in touch with him was to call from different phones where he did not know the number.

As for the e-mail he sent me above, he is lying I contacted the client that Gary claims did not pay and actually have a copy of the invoice. Gary originally charged the client for the installation of 8 computers and 8 printers. I did the installation with another technician employed by Gary. Only 6 computers and 6 printers were installed. The client paid Gary for the work he did and not for the extra 2 printers and 2 computers that were never installed. The client also tried to contact Gary about this and again Gary did not return the calls. So in actuality, Gary was paid in full for the job (I have proof).

I strongly urge everyone to stay away from doing work for Gary Schatz as you will be scammed. This is not the first time Gary Schatz has ripped someone off look at the following link: http://www.ripoffreport.com/Fast-Teks-Gary-Schatz/Employers/Fast-Teks-Gary-Schatz-On-sit-W765D.htm

To Whom It May Concern:

This report was recently brought to the attention of the Fast-teks corporate office. While the Fast-teks corporate office is proud to say that no reports have been filed by customers, a feat we are incredibly proud of given the immense number of transactions our franchise owners conduct on a daily basis, we recognize that employer/employee relationships are equally important to the success of our franchise system and as such we wanted to respond. Each Fast-teks franchise is independently owned and operated. Each franchised location is responsible for its own business decisions and their operations do not always reflect the training received by Fast-teks coroprate. This particular franchised office is no longer part of the Fast-teks franchise system. Unfortunately however, it does not sound as if the situation was fully resolved prior to his separation from the Fast-teks franchise system. If the author of the original report reads this rebuttal, please contact the Fast-teks corporate office at 800-262-1671 or corporate@fastteks.com and reference this report. The Fast-teks corporate office would like the opportunity to make this situation right and compensate the technician for services rendered under the Fast-teks brand (with subsequent proof of such work, of course). We look forward to the continued growth of the Fast-teks brand, and we remain committed to fostering positive relationships between our franchise owners and their clients and technicians.
