I have a brand new MacBook Pro. I purchased a new modem and router yesterday. I went through the steps and connected everything and it worked fine, or so I thought. The final step was to type router in the search box to complete the process. I did that and thought all was well. This morning I tried to get online, and my ip address wasn't accepting my password. I went to the router address again. It looked like a real belkin site. Someone opened a chat box, took my number and said she would have a technician call me. My phone rang and the guy idenetified himself as being from belkin. He told me to go to fastsupport.com , which I did. He looked through my system, and told me that it would cost me $130.00 for one year of firewall protection, but that I should purchase 2, which would be $230.00, and $100.00 technician fee. I took down the information because it sounded like a scam. There are warranties with new routers and a 2 year service protection plan.

I called the real Belkin, they told me that someone was trying to scam me. They fixed my router problem for free.

Beware, these scammers are vicious.

He called himself Robbie Sanders. 1-800-280-0640 Ext. 110
