We engaged Fasttran in a moving contract on 6/24/2005 to transport our belongings from San Francisco, CA to Baltimore, MD for $1800 moving expense and $200 driver tips. The contract price was based on the inspection of the items to be moved by a Fasttran representative. To secure the contract we paid a 20% deposit or $360. Their personnel transported our items to their warehouse on 7/27/2005 and we paid an additional 30% deposit or $540. On 8/2/2005 a Fasttran representative called and refused to perform the services as stated in the moving contract. She then passed the phone to the owner, and he offered to return our belongings to us along with a full refund at no cost to us.

After further negotiation, the owner also offered for us to pay more money for the move, and later quoted to us on 8/3/2005 a price of $3,852.80 plus $200 for tips, more than double the original cost. We found this unreasonable and have secured another moving company to complete the move for the last minute price of $2800. On 8/8/2005, our belongings were transferred from Frattran's warehouse to our new moving company under the supervision of my mother and a family friend acting as our representatives. Although a meeting was arranged with the owner for the transfer, no one present at the office to provide a promised $900 refund check. The two FastTran movers who happened to be at the scene were trying to leave as soon as possible. Our representatives were forced to detain one of them until he called his boss and led our representatives to the warehouse to obtain our belongings. The owner is now refusing to provide a full refund and is trying to charge us for the local move to his warehouse and storage fees.
