I was looking for answers for immediate custody of my son. came across the name of fathers choice while browsing the wisconsin law library. decided to e-mail them. curious. uri from fathers choice called me the next day. we spoke for some time. hopeful, i sent in 98.00 as requested to get things rolling. got a call from sally, a case manager some days later. this is where the nightmare began.

i told sally my story of my sons mothers manic depression, her schizophrenic disorders, which ultimately threatened my sons well being; and her habitual alcohol abuse. first off, my case manager starts sympathizing with her and expressing compassion and understanding. this arroused my concern. after numerous calls and much wasted time, i had a new case manager. wasn't told for a few days. had no calls. no responses to e-mails. later talked to beau; after going through and endless amount of calls and questions; he was my new manager. heard from him once. never again.

now they needed money to continue to work on my "written legal documents!" Sent them 200.00. got a call from someone who asked a lot of questions. talked 77 minutes. two or three days later i was sent paperwork to sign and verify, outlinning my financial status. also needed the balance paid to have my case sent up to the legal office to begin working on my " written legal documents." sent them the balance.

after that was paid, getting ahold of their organization (maybe dis-organization would be better) was literally impossible. calls were often answered by an answering machine; if you got through. Usually you got a busy signal. to try and call you case manager, the one person in whom you felt was your man and could be relied upon. well, they just hardly ever answered. if you would, in desperation, try to get through to the receptionist...if she answered; after being on hold for an eternity, she would tell you someone will call you back later that day. they never did.

through all this, as my patience was wearing, i was served with a summons for a custody hearing... ! my sons aunt and uncle were picked by his mother to care for him. they beat me to the punch; thank you for your incompetance, Fathers choice. they had told of the importance of filing early. i did as they had asked. payed, sent all my documentation, worked with them faithfully and believed we would be victorious. oh... hadn't heard from beau for some time. when i finally, through extensive phone calls and unanswered e-mails i found out beau was gone! this was some time after he left. who was my new case manager? well..who knew.?

during all this i had petitioned for mediation to proceed towards my ultimate goal of custody. didn't get much from f.c. in this area, even though they requested in their statements you advise them of all proceedings. it came and went. a total waste of time. time to move to the custody hearing phase. oh...wait. i was already served with papers. but, how was my written documentation comming along? I will never know. It was promised to be sent fo me before my hearing commenced. by ups. overnight! waited. e-mailed. waited. no answer.

day before hearing. finally get ahold of case manager. Legal documents will be e-mailed to me. why weren't they ups? no answer. whats going on? no answer. you have my money! court came the next day. my son was there. he cried in my arms. I reassured him. I will do what is best for you. I'm your dad. I love You. he's ok. His mom and aunt and uncle and attorney won't let him in to the courtroom. He wanted in. He sat there in the chair outside till the end. It's ok boy. I've got visitation.
