Federal Trades Comision, Kevin Miller/ The Dream Foundation, Mr. Cooper/ Loids Of London, Charles Snid Tried to scam me out of 4,500, To ensure the delivery of 3.5 million, that I suposidly won. Las Vegas, Saratoga, Bakersfield, Manhaten California
I recived a phone call at 6:45 am 12/19/08. It was Kevin Miller from the federal Trades Comision. He informed me that I had won 2nd place in the Dream Foundation Sweepstakes,[Through Publishers Clearinghouse] which was 3.5 million. He gave me a claim# and a phone#702-505-9831, To a Mr.Cooper at the Dream Foundation. When I called Mr Cooper to claim my prize, He told me I needed to Insure my prize delivery through Loids of London. The insured curry service would cost 4,500. So I called the number, Mr.Cooper gave me for Loids of London 718-285-8990. I then spoke with a Charles Snider,Who told me I could either send the 4,500 or pay in person at one of the 3 California offices. In Saratoga, Bakerfield or Manhatten. All of which are over a 6 hour drive from where I live. I told Mr.Snider I did not belive it and I wanted Proof. He said he would fax me a letter from the FTC and the Dream Foundation, stating my winnings. I tried 4 different fax numbers and the letters never came through. Finally Mr.Snider told me that their fax machines where down and that he would call me when they where working again. No one has called me back and I cant get a hold of any one. I didnt get scamed because I took my time and Demaded proof. If I would have gotten the letters I would taken them to a Paralegal for examining.

You were contacted by scammers who steal legitimate business names and in this case Government agency names to appear legitimate to whomever it is they are trying to scam.
You did the right thing in demanding some kind of proof - but remember they can come up with any document they want if they choose to. So never ever rely on what someone who calls you is telling you. ALWAYS take the time to do the proper research to avoid scams
