Federal Warranty Service Corp Platinum Factory Service Not honoring extended service contract in prompt manner for repair of Maytag refrigeratory. Rapid City South Dakota
Purchased Maytag refrigerator 11/17/11 and bought extended service contract after one year until 11/20/15. Have had repairs done previously from Platinum Factory Service. The latest claim was made 05/03/16 (#9596248)and still awaiting repairs after numerous telephone calls to them.
A Whirlpool repairman was sent out on in 3 days and diagnosed the reason for top of refrigerator warm with freezer extra cold to be a compressor problem. After numerous calls to company, finally on 05/23/16, repairman returned and installed a thermostat and fan parts. Ws told previously that a compressor may not be approved so nothing was approved for weeks.
Since I was waiting so long for repair, I called the appliance store manager for help with this problem. He recommended unplugging appliance overnight and plug in again in AM. I did this, and it was working even when repairman was here. However, on 06/19/16, it malfunctioned again. I was given a new claim number (#9939623). Contract #3384467.
Then a Good Housekeeping repairman was sent here on 06/29/16. Diagnosed as defrost malfunction. Said he would order part that would probably be in that weekend. Have not heard anything from him even with leaving messages for a response. Also been calling Platinum Service almost daily with no progress reported (said no parts approved as yet).
Again on 07/03/16, refrigerator down again right before 07/04/16. Put a damper on my planned BBQ with relatives. Had to discard ground meat & other perishables. Did the unplug and plug in again, and it has been working since but I know not for long. As soon as the coils freeze up inside, the top of refrigerator is warm.
When I do make these calls, a message tells me "we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls" and to hang on or call back again at another time. I keep calling back or hanging on for 20 minutes until a human voice comes on no matter what time of day I make the call. Have asked to speak to a supervisor but they only take message for a call back which never comes.
Need help ASAP. Contacted 2 TV statiions past 2 days but no response to my request for an investigation.
