My dentist of 25 years, Dra. Eliana Otarola Acevedo,  recommended me to Dr. Fernando Montani. She assured that he specialized in implants and that he was even the president of the implants specialists in Peru (I found out later that the association does not exist)

This is the summary

-       There was not enough bone. I should have never had the implants put. They don’t care because all they care is the money (he charged $800 for each implant)

-       The implants he put were not the ones I was shown on the videos. He put this mini implants for my top front teeth. On the X-ray they look like thin screws that you can buy at the hardware store. The Surgeon here in the US told me that those were used a long time ago when temporary implants were needed for smaller teeth and that I should have never had those put for my front teeth.

-       Dr. Fernando Montani ordered to have the crown put in place a week after he put the implant. Tremendous mistake. I was so ignorant that I allowed that.

-       He never did a post x-ray. I think it was because he didn’t want me to see what kind of implants he put on me.

-       After he put one implant, he declared that there was not enough bone and it was not aligned. He said “the dentist will figure out how to put a crown there”(what dismay!)

-       The implant on tooth number 7 had to be removed a month after it was placed because I developed an infection that ate all the bone, and left a tremendous whole on my gum. I will need surgery to replace the bone and it will cost $3000.

-       The crown on tooth No 9 fell off 3 months after it was placed. The dentist in the US said that the implant had this pointy ending that there was no way a tooth will stay in place. He re-glued the crown and said that it will only last a couple of months. I have to have that implant removed also.

-       The X-ray for implant on tooth No 8 shows with dark areas around it. Which means that bone is not attaching to it, and it will also have to be removed.

-       I paid $4000 in Peru to have this work done. I had weeks of pain and suffering. I had to do two trips to have the work completed, and spent a moth there waiting for appointments.

-       I have already spent $2800 for the removal of the implant, consultations, and the repair of the teeth. In the US.

If you will have implants done, do a search and make sure you don’t go with dr. Fernando Montani Cavero or with Dr. Eliana Otarola
