Well it happened. I have always thought of myself as being pretty careful when it comes to things like this but man was this guy good. I was walking to my car in the Wal-Mart shopping center in Union City, CA and this guy comes up to me. He said he was with this origination that would send him to Rome if he accrued a certain amount of points. He explained the whole thing to me how I would get 24 issues for $60 of Men's health. (The magazine I had picked) I thought well that sounds ok I guess. I even said to him, "This better not be a scam." Yeah right what was he supposed to say, "Oh you got me!" Anyways I got back to work and looked up the company name. I wasn't able to find anything. I even went to the web site the guy had given me, still nothing. Finally I ran the address and bam I came up with all these reports on these people scamming. I quickly filled out the cancelation on the back of my receipt and mailed it in since it clearly says I have three days. I sent it in the same day this all happened. Luckily I had paid by check so I filed a stop payment on the check right away as well. I have done all this including reporting my experience with these people all within a hour of meeting with this guy. I just hope I don't have any problems with them canceling my order or having my check stopped. Man have I learned my lesson. You can't trust anyone now days. How sad that people prey on other people's kindness. I guess I'll just have to be more of a B**** from now on!
