I leased a new car from a local Dealership . The Dealership seems overly anxious to set me up with Ripp Off 5/3. Case of should have checked the fine print. Residual value was outrageous, payment was $ 128.00 more than I could have leased from Bank One. Most interesting thing was at turn in time,I received a call from their collection division claiming I owed over $600.00 in late fees.

When I started to question this person he became extremely beligerent and told me to wait for a tow truck ! ( Car had been turned in 2 Months earlier) I told this guy from the collection agency that I needed an itemized bill of the charges..his response was that I did not need one and how was I going to pay today ? This stupid harassment continued until I ran into a Vice President and explained my situation to him. Only because of my business relationship with this person did this ripp off process stop. Stay away from 5/3. This modern world of Computers has only given banks and credit companies better tools to screw the lttle guy.

I respect street thugs more than Bankers, You know a street thug is going to bash in your head and take your money while a Banker robs you and will make you believe it your fault.

This is in respones to Mike. When we signed the papers for the car, the financing was to be from Toyota's Smart Lease program. We had been "accepted" as we were told by the dealership. We were told that our first payment would be due in 3 months. During this time, we would recieve our info packet from Toyota's finance group. A week before the payment is due, I was worried because we had not gotten anything about the financing back. Called the dealership. They told me that they had made an error in our paperwork, but had fixed it. A couple of days later I get a payment book from 5th Turd Bank. No other info. Just a coupon book. I called the Dealership. They said that the terms were the same.
1) You can purchase extra mileage if needed
2) You can turn the car in when 60% of the lease time has passed
3) Turning in the car for another Toyota will give you $1000.00 off
A new or used Toyota purchase.

I called 5th Turd, and the CS agent told me that they matched the terms of the Toyota lease program. I requested the paper work. Finally got it (sort of) after 4 more months. The paper work was only a bill of what the Toyota cost, taxes, payment amount and duration. No terms were included.
We went on using the car, and believing that everything was good. Time went by, and I was relocated to another area of TN.
The new location required us to drive over 30 miles to any type of store. (Very remote) Needless to say, the mileage started to rack up on the Toyota very quickly. I called 5th Turd, and requested the information about purchasing additional mileage. They told me that they DID NOT do that! I explained to them that a couple of years before, I had asked about this and was told yes. They swore up and down that the conversation never took place and that all this was explained in my terms and conditions packet (The one I NEVER got). They finally sent me a packet. Toyota of Knoxville lied, and the first 3 CS agents at 5th Turd lied too.
No Mileage purchases
Cannot turn in early and not get took to the cleaners
My dad offered to pay off the lease. This would allow us to get rid of the car, and buy something cheaper. I called about doing this, and the agent on the phone advised me that even if we PAID the lease amount in full, but turned the car in early (Paid off) it would count as Voluntary Reposession on our credit report.
What horse s@#t. Pay it off, turn it in early and still get F^%$ed?
I will never do business with Toyota of Knoxville or 5th Turd bank again.
Oh yeah, When we moved from Knoxville to Greeneville TN our payment changed. It went up by $6 per month. When we moved back to Knoxville from Greeneville, It went up another $3. 5th Turd Ripoff Inc explained this as a tax rate increase. The sales taxes in Knoxville and Greeneville had not changed during this period. Companies like 5th Turd should be sued and closed. All management involved in such crooked acts should be sent to prison for a long time... Getting a lawyer would cost way more than the amount that they screw you out off. They know this, and this is why things like this happen. I learned the hard way that when money is involved people will tell you anything to close a deal. Websites like this are a great way for people to share their experiences. My hope is that someone will read this and walk away with the knowledge that 5th Turd cannot be trusted. Some of this was my fault. I should have had my lawyer demand the terms and conditions disclosure at the beginning. I should have not trusted the human being on the phone and at the dealership. Everything was fishy from the beginning. What was I thinking. Trust someone? Can't do it these days.

Don't lease with third-party banks.

There are so many ways to get "fleeced" when leasing a new car that it is best not to do it at all. But if you must, always use the finance company that is "owned" by the car's manufacturer, not an independent bank.

Dealing with the devil

#4Consumer Suggestion

Last year my wife and I turned in our Toyota that was leased from 5th Turd bank. After dealing with these people for a few years, I had learned the hard way not to trust them. I asked for the person doing the wear report to meet me at my house the day before the turn in to the dealership. The man came over, and I video taped the inspection! I had him recite the date on camera, his name, etc. The next day, I took the car to the dealership. Once again I turned on the video camera and filmed the inside and outside of the car. I had the sales manager recite the date, time, his name, etc.
A month later, I recieved a statement for the car. 5th 3rd had charged me a rental fee for the month AFTER it was turned in. I did some serious phone dialog with 5th 3rd, dealership, and inspection agency. Found out that the car had been sold 1 week after it was turned in to an auction company in Georgia. By having the video tape, I was able to prove the date and time the car was turned in. Not only that, but they tried to stiff me for fictious damage to the car. Once again the video showed a different story. 5th 3rd contacted the inspector and he verified that I did tape the inspection, and his notes did not match 5th 3rds report.
I guess the best tip I can give is, DON'T EVER DEAL WITH THESE PIRATES AGAIN!! I could ramble on and on about their hijink's with us. They take top dishonor for fraud and fee's.
