I have been trying with no success to simply correct my last name (due to divorce) on my auto loan with Fifth Third Bank. I believe at the rate things are going my car will be paid off before it is accomplished. The wait times to speak with someone in customer service are lengthy (and that is after locating the correct phone number, good luck).

The first time I called they gave me instructions and a fax number to send my divorce papers showing the legal change of my name. Not a word about a 24 hour time limit on the request, or a request number. I didn't get around to faxing the document for a couple days and after not hearing anything, called again. I was told the request had "timed out" because the fax wasn't received within 24 hours. So, start over.

Second attempt: I faxed it all to a different fax number and to the attention of the individual I spoke with, exactly as he directed.  Today, I called to see if anything was happening and was told the same thing--that my request had again "timed out." After explaining that I had faxed the information a second time as directed within substantially less than 24 hours, I asked to speak with a supervisor.

Another l-o-n-g wait. The supervisor who finally answered listened well, but said that I had to fax it all again, and "had I put the REQUEST number on the other fax?" Well NO, I had not, because I had never been given a REQUEST number by EITHER of the customer service people I spoke with previously. As of this writing I will be faxing it all to them a THIRD time, directly to the attention of the supervisor--and to an entirely different fax number. She promised to handle it herself and get it to the installment loan department. We'll see . . .

If you can avoid this bank, do so. There are other options than dealing with these clowns; life's too short. And, by the way, I've made every payment perfectly on time for four years. I'm a perfect customer.

 YOU can quit your BS sob story. YOU have NOT been ripped off. All YOU have done is besmirch a company because FIRST YOU were LAZY and did not fax in the information. Get over it and yourself. I swear!! Is there stupid pills you people are taking???Or is it YOU are SO self entitled that YOU think EVERYTHING where YOU are concerned should go through without any issues?? Probably. Either way, STFU!!! LEARN PATIENCE!!!!!! Save the posting space for those customer who have ACTUALLY been ripped off. YOUR only issue is that YOU are not completing whatever goal it is that you have in that space where a brain should be. BOOOOOHOOOOO!!! You had to fax something a few times. What are you 12?? And YOUR claim of being a "perfect Customer" is LAUGHABLE!!!! A perfect customer would understand that you are still transmitting information OVER THE PHONE LINES!!!!! And that issues are going to pop up. Heres a thought to fill that empty space....YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY PERSON THEY ARE RECEIVING FAXS FROM!!! Odds are that YOUR fax was either dropped off of the incoming faxs due to someone else faxing as well. And the fact that had you fax it to several different lines was THEM trying to get YOUR paperwork to them because YOU are too d**n lazy and cheap to put it in an envelope and put a stamp on it. I swear...not only is common sense a super power, but ppl like YOU are showing that common sense just isn't in YOUR genetic make up. I blame the parents. THEY had the responsibility to raise a functioning adult. I guess THEY failed at that task. Why don't YOU stay off the web. YOU cannot use it responsibly. YOU have presented YOUR opinions as fact and YOU have done this on a media outlet. I think I will send a nice little email to their SEO and legal dept pointing them to your slanderous post. I think that THEY should have the right to defend themselves against THIS level of stupidity. Maybe we will get lucky and THEY will post a transcript of YOUR calls so we can see exactly how much of an a** YOU have been towards ppl YOU want to assist YOU.
