I keep getting ripped off by Fifth Third each time my direct deposit is deposited in my checking account.

I now have to let my money sit in the bank for days before using funds from my bimonthly direct deposits because if I withdraw fund the day of the deposit I get hit with numerous overdraft charges.

Fifth Third will not reverse the charges under any circumstances. So now I cannot withdraw funds when available but let the money sit in hopes that I don't get hit with charges meanwhile my bills are overdue and accruing late charges.

This has happened so much that I am now in the process of searching for another financial avenue. I will never use a bank again. US Bank and National City uses the same practice.

What is the date on your pay stub? That is the date that the funds should be available in your account. Often, people get their pay stubs ahead of time and assume that means the money is in the account, when in fact it is not.

If your pay stub has today's date on it, and the funds are not in your account, ask them why not. There are no holds on Direct Deposits, and the custom is to post them in the night before's update.
