Figleaves Figleaves.com Deceptive business practice and misrepresentation Internet
I objected to U.S. Customs charges:I am disputing a charge that was a US Customs C.O.D. charge on my FigLeaves order. Your policy does not state that the customs fees could be as much as 20% of the order amount. No one in their right mind would place an order knowing this was the case. You also do not state that orders under a certain dollar amount are not subject to the high customs charge. I would have made adjustments in my order had I known this. Your lack of disclosure is unethical.
I returned all but one swimsuit so that makes my customs charge around 75% of the swimsuit price.
I am not in the business of shipping to the the U.S., YOU are. You are in a position to be fully informed on customs policy. I am a person trying to do business with you, and I am stuck with an OUTRAGEOUS fee tacked on to my order.
If you are willing to split the the $52.31 charge with me, I will drop the dispute. Otherwise, I will continue to fight it and I will report your unfair business practice to every consumer outlet possible.
They have refused to help resolve this. So I replied: Then I will continue to fight this charge because I did business with YOU, not the U.S. Customs Department. I kept one swimsuit, I did not return them all, if I remember correctly. My husband is a lawyer and I will pursue this because it is a matter of principle. Your company is committing unethical business practice. I've ordered from Boden and NEVER had to pay a customs fee.You are deceptive in that you host a U.S. web page to make it look like you are sending your product from a U.S. warehouse.
