Film Monkey is a nation wide wedding videography company that sub-contracts videographers to shoot their weddings. I have shot for them for a while and I have been paid on some weddings, it was way late but I eventually got paid. Well that has stopped. They owe me for 6 weddings, 4 of them were shot 6 months ago. They won't answer my call or respond to my emails. I did keep calling their phone one day that actually got them to respond to me via email which just said they would pay me that Friday. That of course didn't happen and they haven't responded to any emails since. That was several weeks ago. It is pretty obvious that I am being ripped off and I am going to have to sue them. I just hope that some people will see these reports before working for them. I couldn't really find anything negative on them and I just read another ripoff report on them and I can see why. They had a lawyer threatening the person filing the complaint. Make sure to look into that and see what kind of company this is.

Film Monkey Studios is a great company, they send the videographer lots of work with a promise to pay after 2 weeks. I am a wedding videographer in the Tampa Bay area of FL. and have filmed 10 weddings for them since last mother's day. They are complimentary of my work and always ask if I want more on specific dates. They are a great company, except for that part about getting paid. I have only been paid for 4 of the 10 weddings I filmed for them and and the 6 weddings I am owed for date back as far as October of 2016. Upon my attorney's advice I am posting to the scam and rip off websites, (that I had hoped were not true, but now see otherwise), before reporting them to the BBB and if no satisfaction I will be filing a lawsuit. To be clear, I am a professional and have been working in this field for 10 years. In the last 3 years I have shot over 300 weddings as a sub contractor to various companies. The standard is to be paid in 2-4 weeks for larger companies and immediately when working with smaller operators. The first time I worked for this company, they paid after a month and numerous excuses. The Second time, it took another month, again after numerous excuses. The next 2 weddings were paid after 2 months, and empty promises and excuses. They were forced to pay for these 2 weddings after having no one else to cover any weddings and I agreed to work if they paid. Had I participated in doing business at their level I would have shot another wedding but held the footage hostage to make them pay. They will not even write back to me any more, I did inform them that I would begin posting about their poor and deceptive business practices if they did not pay. They did not pay.
