I received a letter with a check. The letter is from Financial Trust, Inc. stating I had won the USA Mega Millions lottery, also known as The Big Game. The check is for $4,890.10. The letter tells me to call a number and speak to a person called Marsha Davis. The check is drawn on Chase USA, Wilmington, DE, from Bertelsmann Direct, and looks completely valid. The problem is I do not recall ever playing the USA Mega Millions lottery!

Additionally, when I look up Bertelsmann Direct online, they appear to be CD distributors, such as BMG, etc. There is no return address on the envelope, no address on the postmark. The stamp is a Canada stamp. This is all very disturbing. I truly believe this is a scam and I want these people prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I would be happy to turn over these documents in order for this to happen.

Also, the signature on the check is not the same as the signature on the letter and are not legible. The language does not flow properly, as if these people do not speak fluent English. There are all sorts of red flags.

When I looked up the USA Mega Millions jackpot, I came across your website, so this is where I am starting the process. Please advise as to what I should do next. Thank you.
