Financial Trust Processing Services sent me a check for $2,978.25 claiming I had won a sweepstakes for $100,000. I contacted FTPS to see what I had to do in order to receive my winnings. A gentleman by the name of "Mr. Michael Anthony" stated that all I had to do was cash the check at my bank and then call him back to transfer the funds through Western Union. The $2,978.25 was the processing fee I needed to send them and said that nothing would come out of my pocket. Once they received the money, I would receive my check within 24 hours.
I then contacted AKZO NOBEL because their name and logo was on this check and it was verified that this check was a fraud and said for me to destroy the check. They also stated that they had contacted the local authorities.
I then contacted FTPS with this new information and Mr. Mark Anthony said the information I had received was false and that they were a legit company and that the check was indeed real. I stated to Mr. Mark Anthony that this was pretty sorry of them to be doing this and that I wasn't going to fall a scheme like this again.
Mr. Mark Anthony said he would call me back with a rep from Akzo Nobel to assure me that they were legit, but I have yet to hear back from him!
