Got email from Tobin James Winery telling us that the agent who was arranging our upcoming cruise to Tahiti (Fine Food and Wine Cruise of Atlanta) would be filing for bankruptcy, and that the cruise would not be taking place.

Looking through the other reports in "ripoffreport.com", it seems there are at least two, and possibly three of these cruises being defaulted, which would make the loss very likely in the millions of dollars.

There seems to be considerable confusion about what is covered by "travel insurance", which I imagine the majority of travellers purchased (we did).  I'm seeing posts saying that the insurance does not cover "contract disputes", that it covers lost travel only if the agent declares bankruptcy.  I personally called the insurance company yesterday, they did not seem to have my name on file, although I had paid FFWC for insurance over a year ago.

We are hoping that FFWC does NOT get off free with fraud of this magnitude...this isn't a minor accounting issue, it's more like grand theft...and it could take a lot of the luxury cruising market down with it!
