Firefly aka Firefly Mobile is a parent ripoff. My daughter was given one as gift based on safe and secure message conveyed in Firefly advertising. Parent activated. No information was given regarding termination of service due to inactivity.

Daughter has carried with her every day for over one year. Only had need to use 3 times during that year. Poor reception service when it was used.

Daughter tried to use phone today due to emergency. Phone would not work. Lucky emergency was not trauma. Child is safe.

Called Firefly customer service. Trisha their customer no service representative told me the phone was deactivated in April due to inactivity and the number was given to another customer. I asked why I was never notified. She said, "Firefly does not have to notify customers, it was in the service agreement." Unfortunately, I never received a service agreement... it was a gift. She said I could "buy a $25.00 SIM card and secure a new number, but could not get the old number."

Also, said the "balance of minutes I purchased with my credit card were lost when the account was terminated"... again, without notice!

Contrary to their advertising, Firefly's actions exhibit no desire to keep my child safe in an emergency. Not emailing me or notifing a PAID customer shows greed, bad customer service and/or poor managment. Don't, do not get ripped off. KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE! BUY A REAL CELL PHONE YOU CANNOT COUNT ON FIREFLY MOBILE.
