Firestone Complete Auto Care of Naperville (the one by Colonial Cafe and TJs) IS A RIP OFF!!!

A close friend of mine used to work there up from as a service advisor and he told me all the things they do to their customers and i feel the need to share this. Keep in mind, this is one specific store, however their tactics more than likely reflect company policy so its probably all the other Firestone chain stores too.

1. For their flushing services they CHARGE YOU FOR FLUIDS YOU DONT EVEN USE!!! For example, my friend was warned several times to charge customers for 3 gallons of coolant for the flushes, when the techs are specifically instructed to use 2 gallons (him being the honest guy that he was, refused to charge his customers like that. He didnt last long.)
So, just cuz the company wants to make more money, they charge YOU an extra 20 dollars for coolant they dont use!!!! IS THAT FAIR?!

2. Parts Price. Their "warehouse" is actually the local Autozone (high quality huh?) near the shop. They get their parts FOR ALMOST 50% OFF AND CHARGE YOU OVER 200% MORE!!!!! For their brake services when they sell 100, 200 dollars rotors, THOSE ROTORS COST THE SHOP NOT EVEN 50 DOLLARS EA!!! If theyre doing honest buisness, why do they upcharge the cost of parts so much!? if they doubled the price theyd still make profit!! BUT NO THEY CHOOSE TO RIP YOU OFF AND THEY KNOW IT AND DONT HESITATE IN DOING SO!! Another example he told me of was a Tie Rod that costed the shop 20 dollars, they turned around and sold it for 160! REALLY??? YOU GREEDY PR*CKS!
And also, if youre a woman who knows nothing about cars, or an immigrant, THEY CHARGE YOU MORE JUST CUZ THEY THINK YOU WONT FIND OUT!!!

3. Tires. They will do anything to sell you tires!! They have a set amount of tires they need to sell a month to get their bonuses, so they do what they have to do to sell tires! And in doing so, they are supposed to service those tire pressure sensors which cost like 5 bucks per wheel AND THEY DONT EVEN CHANGE THEM AND STILL CHARGE YOU!!!!! Yeah its only 5 bucks, but buy 4 tires and thats 20 bucks they get for nothing!!

If those 3 reasons arent enough to convince you to not go to this place, then by all means, please continue to go there and have your hard earned money taken away for their own personal and corporate greed. I know they will never have my money or my friends and i will continue to spread the word about this sad excuse of a "honest business"

My name is Tom and I am with the Firestone Corporate Office. I have read through your concerns and can assure you that we do not condone practices such as those mentioned in your review. I will confirm that our prices may vary throughout the country due to differences in regional labor rates. In order to avoid misunderstandings, we typically ask that you call the nearest Firestone Complete Auto Care location for a price quote that is accurate in your area.  To address the coolant issue mentioned, we charge a flat rate for coolant flushes that does not vary depending on the amount of coolant a vehicle uses up to 3 Gallons. I will agree that part prices are typically higher than what you would find in any parts dealer or online retailer due to added costs of our extended warranties that covers not only the part but the labor. However, we do offer a price match guarantee to address your concerns. If you find any comparable service at a lower price than ours, we will match that price. For tires, it is standard protocol to replace the TPMS kit anytime a tire is removed from the rim, if this location is not doing that then I apologize as this is not typical.  I will be forwarding your concerns about this location to district management to investigate further.
