My car had a slow leak in one tire which let about 5 PSI out a week. Until I could get to a service station, I just kept putting air in the tire. I finally made it Firestone Tire to have them fix the leak. I dropped the car off since they were busy, and I was told they would call me in an hour or two. When I returned to pick up the car, they had put a new tire on, claiming the old one could not be repaired. I asked to be shown the un-fixable hole that could not be repaired. The manager went to the garage for about 3 minutes, and retuned with my tire. He pointed to a very large nail in the side-wall. Now I've been filling this tire for about 3 weeks, and there was no nail in the side wall. And the nail that was now there would have flattened the tire in a second. I pulled the nail out with little effort, and told the manager that this nail was just put in my tire. He ignored me and just entered the payment information into his computer. I told him again that this nail was not in my tire when I dropped it off. He would not offer any explanation to my concern. This is an out-right fraud by the company. I will never deal with them again, and have written a letter to their Consumer Affairs - U.S. Retail Operations. If this has happened to you, I suggest you write them as well. Maybe somebody teir cares how they treat their customers.
