Today is Aug.14,2002. I was called by a company that is currently going by the name of "First American Leisure Card." This company is offering a Master Card with a package that sounded like a good deal. I did give them a hard time in requesting info like an address and a phone # that was provided, but later turned out to be wrong. At the same time I also provided them with information which I shouldn't have, but they caught me at a moment of weakness.

As soon as I searched for their name on the Internet this report appeared. Unfortunately I went on to read about many others that had also been scammed, but had been given a different company name. At that same time I called my bank and requested a "stop payment" on the so called purchase I had just made (the Master Card) and that was the end of it. The banks do allow you to stop payment and will freeze any unknown debits from your account.

In the case that it's still debited this only allows the bank with more info to research the scam artist at the time that they debit the actual account. The bank will usually return your money. It's amazing at the FACT that you know that the people that start all these scams probably read these reports! You would think that by they would get tired due to the bank's ability to take care of our money. Be careful everyone, but yet rest assure that you can still trust in some, not many, but some.
