We received a phone call from First American Leisure Mastercard. The person on the phone identified herself as Stephanie Hober. She was very convincing, even provided me with an FDIC Insurance number. She offered me $100 in free gas and a vacation package to Florida. In the end, they ended up with my complete account information. She told me it was an unsecured credit card with a $2500 limit that I would be able to use upon receipt. She also said they were partners with Equifax, a popular credit bureau I am familiar with.

When they called back to confirm my interest in the card, they told me that the card was not usable, that it would come with a $2500 balance on it and I would have to pay $14.95 per month on top of the $199.90 they would deduct from my checking account as an activation fee. When I called their customer service number to cancel, the phone was answered by a woman with children in the background. She said she would not have my account info until the 3rd of July, and the transaction was due to post on the 2nd. When I called my bank to see what they could do, they informed me that it was in fact a scam, and I had to close my entire account. Credit, checking, savings, all of it.
They didnt get their money from me, but I hope no one else falls for it.
