Complaint Review: First Approval Benefits

I was contacted about a week ago by a woman who called herself Monica.

She asked me if I wanted to hear about a credit card that would help my every problem.

Of course I said yes. She then proceeded to ask me questions about my account number, routing number, etc.

I am only 18, and have never had a credit card, so I thought that these questions were normal.

She asked if I would agree to have that credit card, and it sounded so good, that I agreed.

She then said that there would be a fee of 269.00 on May 23. I asked her if I could cover that fee with my credit card, and she replied with yes.

Well, today I called to see what the charge was for... why would I have a charge on a credit card I haven't even used yet? First of all, it took forever for someone to answer.

Second, the operator was rude, and third they didn't seem like they wanted to help me.

I asked to speak to Monica, and of course she was too busy. So I asked the operator, Kristen, if she could answer some of my questions. She said that she was on the other line with a customer, and asked if Monica could call me back.

I agreed. Three hours goes by... so I decide to look it up on the internet. Well to my surprise, I hear that this whole thing is a fraud.

I immediately got off the net, and called back. All they did was ask for my phone number and said that it had been canceled. I asked for a conformation number so I could make sure that it was canceled.

They told me they didn't give out conformation numbers, and that they DID cancel it. I just want to tell everyone not to make the same mistake I did.
