I should suspected from the beginning.

I already had all my upper teeth on implants and now I needed to get implants for my bad lower ones.  I saw Dr. Dobro specialized in implants and figured he would be a good choice.  Wrong!  I was asked to pay the entire amount of $23,000.00 weeks before my first appointment.  I refused.  I was then told I could wait until the first appointment, but then it must be paid in full.  No pay-as-you-go.

I was told I might walk out with new teeth the day of surgery or it might be weeks or even a month or two.  In fact, I was still driving 70 miles to Dr. Dobro's office a year later.  Unlike my old upper teeth, the new lower ones caused discomfort, collected food like a broken garbage disposal, and had a sharp ridge on the inside between the denture and the gum.  When I went in for a follow-up appointment, he told me I needed a bite guard to the tune of $1,000.00.  I said I preferred to have it made by my regular dentist in Summit County, who, by the way, was charging me $550.00.  Dr. Dobro said he might not be able to honor the warranty since he was not making the bite guard.

Within six months two teeth broke off.  Dr Dobro refused the honor the warranty because he didn't make the bite guard, notwithstanding that he had never seen the  bite guard to know if it was good or bad.

Now I am wondering if the bite guard was even necessary.  After all, my old teeth have held up fine for over 10 years without one.
