Complaint Review: First Call Relocations

First Call Relocations Bid amount was DOUBLED when the moving truck arrived. We were told we must pay 1/2 up front in cash or they would not load. As we had to be out of the house that day, we had no choice but to pay. Repeated attemps to contact the company for a refund have been futile. They are well versed in the art of delay and avoidance. As senior citizens we were scammed and extorted for $6,000. Ft. Lauderdale Florida

We were contacted by several moving companies after an intenet search for a moving company.  Our call from Mark Wallace, the professional estimator from First CAll Relocations discussed his bid as compared to a lower bid from another company. IN order to give him a feeling of what we had to move and for him to give is an accurate bid, I walked through the entire house and described all items to be moved.  He agreed to lower his bid to be closer to the other company.

As he presented his company to be a successful family owned company, he sounded very professional and I agreed to his price.  Prior to the move the dispatcher, Ben Wilson called to verify dates and times of the move.

When the moving truck arrived we were told that the cost would be DOUBLE what the bid was. They required 1/2 paid up front in cash or they would not load. As we had to be out of the house that day, we had no choice but to pay the ransom.  ONce moved we have been stonewalled by Mr. Wallace, Mr. Wilson and Customer service.  This was nothing less than extortion of two senior citizens.
