Customer representative from First Capital Consumers called me on June 21st. and claimed because I have reestablished my credit that I would receive 2 new credit cards. One would be a MasterCard and it would have a limit of $2000.00 and the other would be a Visa and it would have a limit of $2500.00. I could really use these cards right now and I was happy to think my credit was finally being turned around. The representative had all my vital statistics [i.e. name, address, social security number] so I thought they had been referred by an internet site I had applied to for a credit card. They explained that to receive the cards I needed to make a one time only payment of $199.00 which was to be debited from my checking account. The debit went through on June 25th. and as of this date July 19th. I have not received my credit cards. I have tried in vain to contact them at their customer service number----it is always a recording [doesn't even say the company's name on the recording]. I have left at least twenty messages [the recording says they will call back within 24 hours], but no calls have been returned. I tried called the next digit up on the phone [i.e. 416-488-4665] and the company who this belongs to even states on their message that they are not First Capital Consumers, so other victims must of thought of the same tactic. I will never trust anyone else who calls or contacts me via internet. My main concern is where did they access my personal information and how can I get it removed from that place. kathleen san francisco, California
