This company called me the early morning of 04/27/2002. The employee of this company informed me that I had an already approved First Capital Mastercard for $2500., and included was $1000. twards airline tickets. I was also informed that I had a 7 day free trial and if I was not satisfied I could cancel within a 30 day time period. Being that my credit status was slow going I agreed.

The fee for processing was $19.95 and could be done by check over the phone. After giving them my account information, I was then informed that another fee of 59.95 and 99.95 would be added to my card. After waiting for about 2 weeks the only thing I received was a packet with discounts for variuos items and details about my account but no credit card . After reading the papers I discovered that I would be charged a 99.95 annual fee to use this card. That was when I decided not to go forth with this card and I never sent the required "Acvitvation Form."

Little did I realize that the debiting process was going to continue and as of today they debited the 59.95 and 99.95 fees I thought were going to be on my card. The whole conversation went so quickly that before I knew what was happening, I now realize I had just placed myself in a vulnerable position.

Good News and Bad News

Well, let me start off with the Good News and that is my bank went to work on my behalf. I had gone there immediatly once I noticed my bank account had been drafted and signed a form. As of today all of my money is back into my account. The Bad News is that I received two pieces of mail one from Mega Saver and the other from Hartford Autoclub both of them stating that unless I cancel with them they will draft my account another $99 and also $54.90. I plan on calling them during business hours tomorrow but also I will be closing my existing account and opening a new one. So my Best Advice to those of you out there who may also be going through this is... take the time and go to your bank immediatly. Good Luck!

Sincerely,

Dianna
