Received an email from Jimmy Arthur, Loan Adviser (Loan Manager) at First Cash Advance which had a 7 page pdf contract to be downloaded. This contract was well written and contained no spelling or grammatical syntax errors normally associated with scams. The contract was for a $5K loan at 7.2% APR to be repaid at $200.00 per month for 28 months for a total of $5,600.00... After thinking it over, I decided to call and check it out, but, the phone rang at least 15 times and when it was answered, I could hear a lot of background noise. I asked for Jimmy Arthur and the guy asked for my name and number. After I had given him the information, he asked me why I was calling and I said I was calling about the loan offer sent to me. His response was "Of course you are!" and then he said he would call me back as he was busy right now and hung up. I was starting to feel very uncomfortable about this whole transaction, so, I decided to do some research on the company and as I started, I received a text that Jimmy was involved in a fdic meeting with the government and would return my call tomorrow afternoon. A few minutes later, Ripoff Report came up on my computer with at least 25 complaints on the company with great loans with low APR's and the scamming was with requiring money in advance before the loan would be processed...at this point, I do not believe I will be answering my phone when Jimmy calls me back... Just wanted to let you know it looks like this particular scam is alive and well... in fact, I am going to text him tonight and tell him I received a loan elsewhere as I couldn't wait until tomorrow...I really don't want a lot of phone calls, etc. Thank you for this website, it probably has saved me a lot of aggravation.
